Commercial Pilot License Course Eligibility

Pilot License (CPL) is indeed one of the most
demanding careers in the field of aviation. The eligibility
criteria for joining a pilot course are quite specific and
stringent. Candidates must have completed their 12th examination.
in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
(PCM) or have a 3-year engineering diploma from a recognized
board or university. Additionally, the age limit for joining
the pilot course is a minimum of 17 years or above.
Furthermore, candidates must also be medically fit as per the
medical standards set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This ensures that only individuals
who are physically and mentally fit to operate an aircraft are allowed to pursue a career in aviation.


Commercial Pilot License Course Duration

The CPL course typically has a duration of 8-10 months, which includes 80 hours
of academic sessions on the ground and 200 hours of
flying training. The course is divided into three stages:

  • Ground Training
  • Simulator Training
  • Flying Training.

These stages are designed to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to
operate an aircraft safely and efficiently.
